How big were Kiwis' bubbles? A comic research summary
This is a comic summary of the ‘bubble study’ conducted by the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand, which has been published Open Access in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) Open, which means it is freely available to read. This comic was created help make the results more accessible, in collaboration with the MRINZ study team.
We also did some further research to see what format study participants most prefer for reading about the research they helped with, and while there was a role for scientific and ‘lay’ text summaries (where scientific terms are avoided or explained), comics were the preferred medium for most people who took part. You can read more about that study here, or its scientific publication here [or for those without academic access, via the Green Open Access PDF].
Thank you / tēnā koe to all involved in the design, conduct, analysis, and writeup of this research, and most importantly, those who took part and made it possible!
