Why is urine yellow, and poop brown? A comic.

Here’s a little comic in case you had ever wondered why urine is yellow, and poop is brown. It’s the story of bilirubin metabolism really, and an excuse to experiment mixing classical pen-and-ink style medical illustration with comics (which also use pen and ink traditionally). It was a really fun blend of styles, and definitely something I'll be experimenting more with in future!

I made some of this art forever ago as a mockup for a book style I was considering. I paint so much, but am in love with drawing at heart. I wanted to see if I could communicate a concept clearly without colour, and am pretty happy with how this turned out.
