Signs of Christmas disease
Haemophilia is a (usually) inherited bleeding disorder, where the body struggles to make clots, resulting in some of the symptoms shown below. People with the condition tend to bleed more easily, and for longer.
Haemophilia B is named 'Christmas disease' after the first patient described with the disease, rather than the season. That doesn't stop me using the misnomer to remember the features with the help of this little holiday elf. The signs and symptoms shown here hold true for both Haemophilia A (the most common type), and Haemophilia B.
Merry holidays peeps!
